Literature Text

Sweat.

And I can hear
you breathing,
and our chests are heaving,
and your voice is ringing in my ear.

I don't want to look at you
during the recovery
as we discuss the validity of the Beatles
and of all the things we thought we knew.

The rawness of emotion,
the lack of our devotion,
we've found passion,
but not the thing that's missing.

No I don't love you.
I know I never can,
but, tonight I'll hold your hand,
and tonight, baby, we can just pretend.

An amazing poem.
Thank you for this.

P.s- I never understood artist comments on poetry. :)
